Citizenship and Resident Status Requirement

1. International applicants must have nationality other than Japanese.
2. International students must be qualified to apply for resident visas as students that are issued by the Japanese Government.

Language

All official documents are written in Japanese at Kyoto University. Except for a few advanced graduate courses, the examinations and lectures are given in Japanese. All international students are advised to learn the Japanese language before coming to Japan; particularly, those who wish to enroll in our undergraduate program and master's program must have sufficient proficiency in the Japanese language.
